About my project

My project will be focused on community development in Krasnany/Rača, which is an area of Bratislava, the Slovakian capital city. We are working to open a new community centre called Stara Jedalen.

We want Stara jedalen to be a safe, open and creative space for local people where they can implement their ideas as well as our ideas. We need to organise ourselves better, to hear people’s needs better and to give people an opportunity to express their needs.

The main purpose of the project is to include new social groups in our centre/community, especially local youth, local subcultures (such as a skateboarding group, freerunners, senior citizens, and families), local artists and residents from the surrounding area.

We would like to organize community planning sessions to discuss with people what kinds of activities they prefer, what their needs are and what reasons would compel them to leave the comfort of their couches and join us.
