Local community leaders’ program

“Grow (with) your community”
ViabilityNet 3.0 is a Via Foundation program that offers local community leaders space to learn, reflect, connect and grow together and funding for projects that focus on empowering their own local communities. ViabilityNet 3.0 is focused primarily on the Central and Eastern European region (CEE), with secondary reach into Western Europe.
There were two rounds of the community leaders program. The first ran through August 2017 through June 2018 and the second was launched in August 2018 and ended in June 2019.
You can find bios of the participants here.
If you are interested in learning more about impact the program had on participants and their local communities, check two studies created during the program.

We are restructuring the programme, so at the moment there is no call for application.

Experiences of participants from the previous round of the program

“I think it is like a small university course, which is very practical and meaningful for me. In the end the results will show that to everyone!”
“It structures knowledge and gives a clear picture of work I did before. And tips from people from other cultures are very useful. The atmosphere of trust makes honest and open communication and experimenting possible.”
“I totally love it. It is the most intensive workshop I have ever been to and I am grateful that I can be here.”
“It definitely helps me grow and learn new things about the communities but also about myself. I enjoy the program.”
“ViabilityNet 3.0. has already helped me learn so much:
  • about myself and the way I should perceive what I am doing/striving for daily;
  • about team-work, adaptability, resilience, roles and responsibilities, communication styles, etc.
  • about shame and its effect on my life;
  • about my community and my place in the community;
  • about how to structure, restructure and readapt my project;
…and so much more!”

CEE partner organization network

The CEE partner organization network is a regional grouping of six civil society support organizations in five CEE countries: Via Foundation from the Czech Republic, Szkola liderow from Poland, Nadacia Pontis from Slovakia, TRAG Foundation from Serbia, and ARC (Asociatia pentru Relatii Comunitare) and Fundatia Pact from Romania.
The main objective of the CEE partner organization network is to strengthen local communities in the Central and Eastern Europe region. The member organizations seek to improve their support of local communities by learning from and with each other. Read more here.

Alumni network

Check out Alumni testimonials.
The Alumni network will connect alumni from both the ViabilityNet 2.0 program (2014-2016) and the ViabilityNet 3.0 program (2017-2019).
The long-term aims of the Alumni network include to:
1) Support the sustainability of the program’s impact in local communities in the CEE region
2) Support alumni in spreading the change in other communities
3) Strengthen the know-how of Via Foundation in regard to more effective support of local communities
The first meeting of the network happened in April 2017. Since then, the Alumni were involved in mentoring current participants, meeting each other at different occassions and had done many things in their local communities.
